Mélissa Henri is a painter and visual artist based in Shawinigan. She works under the name Mélisss. Her practice is shaped by a desire to build from what is present: to connect fragments, turn tension into a point of leverage, and give concrete form to an impulse or to a way of positioning oneself in relation to the world. She works primarily in acrylic, maintaining a direct relationship with the material, where gesture remains free without losing direction. Her process combines intuition and construction. Drawing, digital exploration, and painting on canvas allow her to carry the same intention through several states, until a balance asserts itself. Her studio is an essential anchor: a place where works take shape, respond to one another, and become part of a larger trajectory. Through her series, Mélisss builds a living visual language, attentive to inner transformations and to the ways they influence how people relate to the world.
