To see a direction in the landscape before it takes shape. To sustain that interpretation until it becomes a point of reference. A vision that endures does not merely interpret. It weaves, connects, and brings meaning to light where there were previously only unconnected fragments. In *Portée*, the giraffe embodies this elevated perspective: one that perceives a direction before it is visible from the ground. Its presence organizes the space without overwhelming it. It keeps the signal clear enough for others to orient themselves by it. Part of the Explore series, the work embodies a power of vision, constancy, and clarity. It speaks to the ability to grasp a direction and then keep it visible until it becomes a shared point of reference.
