Blindness

Reality demands neither acceptance nor consent. It exerts its force. Inevitable. The weight grows as you turn your back and settles into its target. The elephant in the room takes shape around a simple yet formidable mechanism: what is visible can nevertheless remain out of frame. The work focuses on what happens when the gaze turns away, when space reorganizes itself to evade what weighs it down, when a presence becomes too massive to be ignored and too heavy to be confronted. The burden is not immediate. It builds up. It gains ground, little by little. Over time, it tightens its grip. It eventually imposes itself, leaving only two options: to face it, or to accept the loss. The composition organizes the viewer’s gaze around a constant, stable presence that cannot be dispelled. The colors and shapes maintain this active pressure within the field of vision, to the point where looking away becomes a decision in itself. There comes a point where avoidance comes at a price.
