The limit arises when we listen to our instincts and stop compromising with what we know. Choosing how to move forward. Where to focus our energy. And how far to go. Some boundaries are drawn to protect us. Others exist to be pushed. But we must still discern which are which. Creating something new sometimes requires rejecting what is deemed reasonable, in order to remain true to what is right. A consciously made decision doesn’t close anything off. It clarifies. It restores strength to the movement. “Frontière” is part of my ongoing exploration of the Big Five, interweaving human personality traits with the five most dangerous animals in Africa. In this work, the rhinoceros embodies agreeableness as an inner territory to be protected. Its calm, massive, and grounded presence does not engage in confrontation, but sets a boundary through a confident stance. The work gives form to this shift: establishing a clear boundary, not to harden, but to maintain direction, protect the right momentum, and reinvigorate the movement.
