Original wall decor
Wall decor that exists in a single copy: signed, hand-painted, never reprinted.
Most wall decor sold online is printed in the thousands. Original wall decor is the opposite: one artist, one piece, one wall. That is the whole premise of L'Original, and it is why a room decorated this way cannot be duplicated by the person living next door.
An original wall decoration also behaves differently over time. Texture catches the light, brushwork stays visible up close, and the piece keeps a resale value that a poster never has. Every work below exists in one copy only, signed by the artist who painted it.

4.9Frequently asked questions
What counts as original wall decor?
A work made by hand by an artist, existing in a single copy, and signed.
That excludes posters, giclée prints and open editions, which are reproductions of an original. Every piece at L'Original ships with a certificate of authenticity naming the artist and the year.
Is original wall decor more expensive than a print?
Per piece, yes. Per year of use, rarely.
A print fades and gets replaced; an original is kept, sometimes resold, and often becomes the piece a room is built around. Our catalogue starts under 500 $, and small formats by emerging artists are the usual entry point.
How do I know the piece is really unique?
Each artwork page names the artist, the technique, the exact dimensions and the year.
Our artists are represented by the gallery, not aggregated from a marketplace, and you can meet several of them at our two Montréal locations.
