This work explores the relationship between chance and intention in the painting process through a composition created without direct contact with the canvas, in which gestures, splatters, and smudges become the primary elements of its construction. The accumulations of marks, fragmentary forms, and moving paint graphically embody the unpredictable and the way in which a presence can emerge from simple painterly accidents. By revealing a shape that might evoke a head without seeking to represent a specific individual, the work captures the eye’s ability to organize chaos and give meaning to the forms that emerge from the material.
