Sasha ZK creates visual topographies where polarities meet and dance: bliss and devastation, expansion and contraction, order and chaos, rage and shame. Through the interplay of contrasting colours, textures and forms, her canvases become liminal spaces of unimaginable possibility. Her process is inherently expressive and embodied—each piece is an excavation of personal and collective psychospiritual experiences and realms. Her practice is grounded in a profound commitment to honouring the contradictions that humans embody. Her work acts as a mirror: by externalising the complexity, beauty and pain of her own psychic states, she invites others to become more intimate with the depth and vastness of their own vulnerability. A self-taught, emerging artist, Sasha ZK came to the canvas through a unique intersection of professional insight and personal survival. Her experience as a mental health professional working with traumatised individuals encouraged her to use art as a medium of expression in the therapeutic process. This, in tandem with her own experiences navigating grief, crisis and stigma, ignited the need for a liberatory creative practice.
