Hypervigilance

Hypervigilance is a silent state in which the mind never truly rests. It continually observes, analyzes, and anticipates, to the point of sometimes confusing what is real with what might happen. The character appears structured from the outside, almost solid, while internally his defense mechanisms are wearing him down. The numerous eyes reflect this constant vigilance and the proliferation of thoughts. Behind him, a hatch opens and drops his batteries—a symbol of resources that are running out despite a mind that continues to function. The cracks bear witness to this wear and tear, while the flowers emerging from them evoke the way we embellish certain wounds to keep moving forward. The heart, now mechanical and wound by a key, bears the weight of the world on our unconscious. Chaos that appears to be under control, but a mind that never lets go. Always present, but never truly at peace.
