Introspection (2026)

INTROSPECTION represents the act of momentarily turning one’s gaze away from the outside world and directing it inward. At the center of the work, the keyhole serves as a point of entry. It evokes access to an inner space that is never fully revealed at a single glance. Various images revolve around it, like so many fragments of the self that one encounters when one begins to look inward: memories, emotions, desires, fears, roots, the body, contradictions, and aspects of the self that are still difficult to name. The eyes refer to observation and self-awareness. Doors, windows, and openings suggest different levels of access to this inner world, while roots evoke what shapes us at a deep level. Other symbols appear like thoughts or sensations that arise during this exploration. Nothing is presented in a perfectly logical order, because introspection isn’t either. Looking within means moving from a thought to a memory, from a sensation to a question—sometimes without transition. Some things appear clearly; others remain partial, hidden, or difficult to understand. The work, therefore, does not represent the discovery of a definitive answer. Rather, it represents the very act of searching within oneself. INTROSPECTION thus becomes an invitation to symbolically turn the key: to observe what lies within us, to recognize the different layers that make us who we are, and to accept that understanding ourselves is a process in motion rather than a destination.
