This work depicts emotional imprisonment and the way in which certain relationships can gradually trap an individual. The suspended body, the bonds surrounding it, and the inverted position embody this loss of control, in which the individual appears to be held fast by ties from which they can no longer break free. Between bonds that might evoke attachment and a figure who finds herself physically imprisoned, the work reveals the tension of a relationship capable of both holding someone close and trapping them.
