Dimensions : 23 x 28cm | 9 x 11 in
This work depicts the consequences of suicide and how such a decision can continue to affect those left behind. The faces contorted by pain, the separation of the bodies, and the child positioned between the two figures embody this absence that has become a presence, where the father’s suffering disappears with him, giving way to that of his family. Between the one who is no longer there and those who must continue to live with his absence, the work reveals the tension of an individual decision whose consequences become a pain that cannot be shared with the one who caused it.
