This work depicts inner suffering and vulnerability through a self-portrait of a weeping skull, whose features are overlaid with a dense and unstable layer of paint. The vivid colors, aggressive brushstrokes, knife marks, white eyes, yellow teeth, and tears graphically embody emotional violence, the contrast between outward appearance and inner state, and the persistence of pain. By juxtaposing chromatic intensity with the silent expression of tears, the work captures a moment in which the brutality of the painterly gesture becomes an extension of suffering that remains visible despite the energy that obscures it.
