All I had left was oblivion

This work depicts survival in the wake of loss and the persistence of existence in the face of pain, through a frontal portrait that evokes a sense of confinement and introspection. The shaky black lines, the vertical tears resembling prison bars, the numbers inscribed beneath the figure, and the saturated ochre background graphically embody the erasure of identity, the weight of memory, and the solitude of a grief that becomes an inner structure. By contrasting the stillness of the face with the handwritten inscription “I still have life,” the work captures the paradox of an existence that continues despite what has been lost, where survival becomes the only possible form of victory.
