As Two People Experience It

This work depicts the loss of self within a destructive relationship, through the juxtaposition of two figures whose bodies reflect different forms of exhaustion and dependence. The male body, reduced to a skeleton with a slashed throat; the female body, marked by red wounds and a crown of thorns; and the contrast between blue and orange—all graphically embody sacrifice, emotional emptiness, and the scars left by a relationship in which one person burns themselves out to sustain the other. By juxtaposing the fragility of a drained body with the presence of a body that remains scarred despite its apparent power, the work captures how a relationship founded on lack can transform love into a form of attrition in which each person remains a prisoner of their own wounds.
