Unique work, with a Certificate of Authenticity
I wanted to portray a young American soldier in Vietnam in 1969—frozen in a moment suspended between war and speech. The message he conveys—“Don’t send your sons to finish what politicians start”—resonates as a timeless cry against the abuses of power and the sacrifices imposed on future generations. In 2026, this cry cuts across the decades like an ignored warning. Sons are still being sent—to Venezuela, and tomorrow perhaps elsewhere—to serve geopolitical ambitions disguised as national security. Those in power speak of greatness. The image speaks of lives. This soldier is not a propaganda hero. He is a clear-eyed witness, bearing a message of peace and caution. My work does not accuse. It sneers. It stares us straight in the eye and whispers: “Seriously? Are we still here?”
