Suzanne Lord

Saint-Bruno, Canada

Suzanne Lord was born in Montreal in 1963. She showed a particular talent for drawing from a very young age and focused primarily on portraiture and depictions of animals. Initially destined for a career as a figurative artist, she never would have imagined that she would one day become passionate about abstract art. The paths that led her down this road are many: a university education in the arts, various workshops with artists such as Sylvie Cloutier, Serge Babeux, Chantal Deserres, Seymour Segal, Tania Lebedeff, and others. THE APPROACH

Passionate about travel and photography, she draws inspiration from the landscapes that fill her gaze and has a deep love for the ocean. Since 2008, she has been visiting the Hawaiian Islands regularly, having fallen in love with them on her very first visit. The vastness of the ocean and the waves crashing against volcanic rocks are an endless source of inspiration that finds expression in her work: aquatic movements—sometimes torrential—and fertile waves; a journey begins, takes shape, unfolds, and is flooded with color. Three trips to Nepal (2018, 2020, and 2025) have also transformed her vision as well as the expression conveyed through her works in recent years. Her ultimate goal is to convey a visual energy that connects with and stimulates the viewer’s mind, inviting them to take part in her journeys of introspection and sensitivity.
