Katie Paglialunga is a multidisciplinary artist working with fantastical, organic, magical, and psychedelic imagery. She works primarily with painting and drawing materials, but you will also find her collecting objects and magazines to create mixed media collages. She adores the use of narratives within her work. Her inspiration when starting a piece often arises from a desire to pretend and tell stories. The stories she creates are based on personal journeys of survival on Earth, but the imagery and colours are out of this world. Katie’s works frequently play with the ideas of duality, overwhelm, growth, adulthood vs childhood and the travels in-between and back and forth. When Katie is not working on her personal art practice, she facilitates art classes and workshops in various communities and schools. Working in different communities and with youth is inspiring, refreshing and challenging. Katie uses the unpredictable tales that life throws at us as an overwhelming, inspirational tool.
