Ariane Duplessis, originally from Montreal, Quebec, began her studies as a figure skater. When she began her studies in Fine Arts, she left the competitive world of skating to concentrate on her studies. Ariane uses her athletic career to shape her artistic practice. Winning honorary awards at Cégep, she continues to push her artistic practice even further. The artist completed her BFA in Fine Arts at Concordia, after being an exchange student at the École Supérieure Beaux arts de Bordeaux and completing two artistic residencies in Cluj and Budapest. Now based in Montreal, she works with Montreal galleries while teaching visual arts.
