Waiting for pets

This painting captures the quiet moment between an invitation and its response: my cat’s familiar gesture asking to be touched, just before the touch itself. Through the emphasis on the textures of fur and bedsheets, I explore the anticipation of physical contact and the intimacy that exists in its absence. The painting inhabits the delicate space between desire and fulfillment, where an unspoken connection is felt before it is realized.
