View From My Window in Winter, French Alps (2025)

is an original mixed-media diptych painting inspired by the view from my studio in Nice, France, during the quieter winter months. Blending abstract Mediterranean landscapes, minimalist coastal architecture and a restrained earthy colour palette, this minimalist French Riviera painting explores the intimacy of living with a place over time—watching its light, colours and atmosphere slowly shift from one season to the next until observation becomes memory. Built around a neutral colour palette of warm beige, warm gray, deep blacks and white, the graphic composition distills the Mediterranean landscape to its essential elements: snow-capped French Alps, windswept minimalist palm trees, the open expanse of the sea and simplified modern architecture characteristic of Nice, Monaco and the coastal towns in between. Geometric forms, organic lines and layered collage create a balance between abstraction and representation, inviting the viewer to experience the landscape emotionally rather than literally.
