Artwork Description
This artwork features a skeletal figure spray-painted onto an official ballot paper for the San Francisco 2024 election. The black and gray stencil-style skeleton contrasts sharply against the printed text and checkboxes of the ballot, creating a striking juxtaposition between political process and mortality. The composition is raw and confrontational, with the skeleton's form slightly distorted and fragmented. The use of a real ballot as canvas adds layers of social commentary, blending analog materials with a provocative, surreal image. The overall mood is unsettling and thought-provoking, evoking themes of life, death, and civic engagement.
