Artwork Description

Painting, Acrylic on canvas. Social Taboo Distorted bodies drift and collide in a gray void above a soft blue Horizon-half-formed, half -forbidden. The work stages the quiet violence of what society refuses to name: desire, ancestry, rupture, and the body that will not stay in place. Rooted in cubist fracture and Surrealist dream -logic, it draws from the long American tradition of unspoken histories and the philosophy of the repressed returning in distorted form. This is core to my practice as GJH Block prophet: abstract yet figurative, figurative, street - edged yet contemplative, always returning to the human figure as both archive and provocation.
