I visited Whitehorse the capital of Yukon Territory in 2007. The most unforgettable part of this travel experience is the significant swirling and turbulent Yukon River which has claimed some lives in the past.! Standing on the bridge and looking down, Oh My Goodness! It is formidable and breathtaking. Combining different elements of this trip, including the aboriginal art symbolizing the decency of First Nations people, the realistic depictions of bear walking in the autumn colorful wilderness alongside Dempster Highway in the shape of Salmon under the bear’s feet, the legendary wolf howls underneath the Northern Lights, the Raven croak, etc etc. The abstract colors indicate the retroactive sweet memory mingled with the enjoyable imagination of my painting process enriched by inspirational moments. The abstract way of the river depicted informs my study of Japanese Ykiyoe.
