Le chien à la peluche (2026)

Some companions have a special way of reminding us that happiness is often found in life’s simplest moments. In this charcoal artwork, I wanted to capture one of the Bernese Mountain Dog’s most endearing traits: its playful nature. Stuffed toy held firmly between its teeth, bright eyes focused ahead, and an unmistakable presence, this dog seems to step right out of the frame to share its treasure and invite us to play. The close-up composition highlights the details of its expression, the texture of its coat, and the personality reflected in its gaze. Despite its impressive size, the Bernese Mountain Dog often retains a gentleness and spontaneity reminiscent of a puppy. This piece is a tribute to that genuine joy, that kind-hearted energy, and those moments of companionship that create such unique bonds between animals and humans.
