The May Queen (2026)

This artwork is an abstract composition dominated by warm hues of pink, peach, and ochre, creating a soft vibrant background. Various marks and shapes are scattered across the canvas, including clusters of small black crosses, circular forms, and irregular patches of color. There are subtle layers of texture and scribbled lines in pastel tones, mixed with bold strokes in darker colors like deep blue and black, adding depth and contrast. The overall effect is one of dynamic movement and fluidity, with an interplay of organic forms and geometric elements that invite close inspection. Viewers will feel a sense of calmness and rhythm; patterns of X’s and spontaneous marks add a visual interest. The painting glows like a sunrise, with no intention of a landscape. The balance between the soft washes of color and the sharp, deliberate lines is particularly effective, offering visual tension without overwhelming the composition.
