La jeune fille du Vieux-Port (2026)

Leaving the nest means stepping away from the familiar and opening yourself to the unknown. This graphite portrait captures that pivotal moment when a young woman sets out on her own, leaving the family home behind to discover the excitement and possibilities of the big city. It is a celebration of freedom, independence, and the exhilarating feeling that a whole new world is waiting to be explored. Through this work, I wanted to evoke the courage to spread one’s wings, embrace the unknown, and begin creating a life of one’s own. The sense of movement and the subtle suggestion of the city in the background reinforce the idea of a new beginning, filled with possibilities and discoveries. The artwork is presented in a reclaimed and carefully restored turquoise frame, giving new life to a piece from the past while beautifully echoing the artwork’s theme of renewal and transformation.
