Forest Fire II

2022, Charcoal on paper, This black-and-white work depicts a devastated forest, where dead and broken tree trunks rise up against a snow-covered mountainous landscape. The drawing uses charcoal strokes to create varied textures, emphasizing the roughness of the bark and the density of the branches. The composition, with its diagonal and vertical lines, guides the eye across the scene, evoking an atmosphere of desolation and silence. The mountains in the background, slightly blurred, add depth to the painting, reinforcing the impression of a natural environment marked by destruction.
