Like a cat

This work depicts three cats whose distorted forms and gazes create a presence that is both familiar and unsettling. The first cat, sitting facing the viewer with a rigid body and a fixed gaze, contrasts with the one walking in the background, while the last one, with a round face and wide-open eyes, remains partially hidden behind the tail of the central cat; their postures and gazes thus accentuate the feeling of being watched and trapped. Set against a vivid orange background that amplifies their presence, these familiar animals—made strange by their forms and attitudes—reveal a tension between the familiarity of the subject and the atmosphere of mystery and unease that emanates from it.
