Nacho Pop

Arriba! Arriba! Andale! Andale! The fastest mouse in Mexico—and on the planet—is making an appearance in my gallery. With this painting, I had fun capturing our friend’s movement and speed. I chose to set the legendary Speedy Gonzales against a textured background in shades of ochre yellow and sand—a warm, contemporary palette that breaks away from the flat backgrounds of the original cartoons. The frantic racing motion is also evoked by Speedy’s famous cry. This is incorporated at the bottom of the canvas, adding a distinctive graphic signature—and, as always, reflecting my love for typography. Furthermore, every visual element—from the bright red scarf fluttering in the wind to the stylized clouds in the background—contributes to creating a perfect balance between graphic simplicity and rich textures. A true visual adrenaline rush that is sure to turn heads.
