In my series dedicated to my memories as a movie lover, Charlie Chaplin holds an important place. This installment allows me to reinterpret iconic moments that have left a mark on our collective memory. Through my painting, a tribute to Charlie Chaplin and his famous “bread roll dance” in *The Gold Rush* (1925), I seek to rekindle that naive and joyful poetry. The textured stars in the background and the graphic treatment of the word “STAR” blend the nostalgia of black-and-white film with the contemporary chromatic energy of Pop Art. The combination of acrylic and dry pastel is essential to my work. The blue and white lines that outline the figure and the stars I’ve placed in this dark sky bring a certain vibrancy, texture, and modernity that I wanted for this subject. The use of this textured ultramarine blue creates an intriguing depth, while the bright orange accent of the rolls creates an instant, dynamic focal point.
