“To question notions of fascination, power, identity, and freedom through sensitive and critical visual experiences.”

With a master's degree in communications (experimental media, 2014) from UQAM, my work is rooted in a desire for community involvement. By bringing together art, technology and social engagement, I explore the possibilities for individual and collective transformation that art can offer. I created a course on Design and Community Engagement, which has been offered for many years at Concordia University. There, I was able to observe the power of art in the personal and collective development of individuals, particularly with groups of homeless people, street youth and women in social integration situations. This experience feeds my artistic approach on themes such as resilience, speaking out and the search for independence. I question notions of power, identity and freedom, offering visual experiences of relational and plastic aesthetics that stimulate sensitivity and incite reflection. As a professional working with moving images, I'm interested in the limits of the medium outside its technological constraints. I create works that invite reflection and wonder, using mechanical animation devices. This dimension of my work explores the tensions between candor and awareness. In a society saturated with images and stimuli, my works offer fragmented spaces where the observer is invited to rediscover the candid wonder of subtle surface movements.
