Leda and The Swan (Version 1)

Created as part of a gallery show "Accessible Art" each artist was challenged with making affordable entry level piece in a series of 10. I presented 4 series including this one on Leda and The Swan story of Greek Mythology. I worked with my recent interest in street art, my ongoing satire against Disney and fascination with how people view a story over time. This artwork features a surreal composition with a blue-toned, nude female figure crouching prominently in the foreground. Her elongated limbs and stylized facial features convey a sense of tension and unease. Surrounding her are multiple overlapping cartoonish duck figures rendered in muted greens, purples, and browns, creating a chaotic and layered background. Three fried eggs with bright orange yolks float near the figure's outstretched hand, adding an absurd and whimsical element. The piece employs a mix of figurative and abstract styles, with a muted earthy palette contrasted by vivid blue and orange highlights, evoking a mood that is both playful and unsettling.
