This abstract acrylic painting features a vibrant palette dominated by neon green and bright pink, accented with touches of orange and black. The composition is textured with thick, impasto brushstrokes that create a tactile surface. Organic shapes interlock and overlap, with two circular forms resembling eyes near the upper left, evoking a playful, almost creature-like presence. The energetic color contrasts and dynamic forms convey a vivid, spontaneous mood, inviting viewers to engage with the artwork's intuitive and expressive nature. The painting is an homage to the documentary called My Octopus Friend. This documentary is about a beautiful friendship a man makes with an octopus, and all the knowledge and life lessons he receives as a result of this friendship. I think at one point or another, we all have had an octopus friend, and am thankful for that. Sometimes people are shy and very difficult to get to know, but we can learn a lot from them. This painting is inspired by my octopus friend. The painting is highly textured. I used a spatula to pull up layers of underlayers of white paint which creates the textural quality. I used neon orange. crimson red, neon green, white, and neon pink acrylics for this painting. The painting is on cradled wood . I hope the viewer is reminded of their special octopus friend whom they might have had at some point in the past or whom they may currently have in their lives.
