Light Enters

This abstract acrylic painting features dynamic vertical and diagonal strokes in vivid hues of red, green, blue, and yellow. The composition is layered with textured brushwork that creates depth and movement, evoking a vibrant interplay of colors. The energetic arrangement of lines and the rich palette convey a sense of intensity and flow, inviting viewers to explore the emotional and sensory qualities embedded in the artwork. This acrylic painting on fine art paper is entitled Light Enters. The main picture has a slight glare or sheen to it because I added some gloss on the finished painting. The idea behind the painting is that even in the darkest places, light still enters. Here the light is bright, bold, colorful and beautiful. The painting is layered and I placed tape to form lines on the paper and painted them. Then I taped different lines overtop of these and painted over them again. This gives the painting a slightly marbled look in which you can see multiple colors combining and mixing together in each line. The painting is not about perfection, so some of the lines run into others and in some cases I ripped off small pieces of paper to offset the lines and I painted them one color. It is not about perfect geometry, but like life, it is organic and changeable. It is about how when we are authentic, we can experience that we are both wonderful and unique.
