A very close-up view of skin, pushed to the point of abstraction: the folds, crevices, and fine striations become a veritable landscape here, an organic topography where it is no longer entirely clear whether we are looking at a hand, a neck, or some other fold of the body. The texture, rendered with an almost geological attention to detail, reliefs, deep shadows, scattered hairs like so much brush, evokes dunes, valleys, and ranges of hills. By tightening the frame to the extreme, *Fragment* takes the logic of the entire series a step further: it is no longer the face or the hand as a whole that carries memory, but a simple piece of skin, isolated and magnified until it becomes unrecognizable, a territory to be explored rather than an identity to be recognized. The title fully embraces this loss of reference points: the aging body is revealed here not as a whole, but as one material among others, a surface whose interpretation constantly oscillates between the intimacy of the flesh and the immensity of a landscape.
