Watermark (2026)

Two intertwined hands fill the canvas: the gnarled fingers, the prominent knuckles, and the play of light and shadow on the skin are rendered with meticulous precision, transforming this simple gesture, one hand resting on another, into a silent testament to the passage of time and the bonds that unite us. Surrounding these hands, a light white embroidery unfolds in thin, sinuous stems, punctuated by small, delicate flowers, like a delicate filigree that frames and highlights without ever fully covering. The thread, fine and ethereal, contrasts with the painterly density of the work: it evokes the invisible web that connects generations, that discreet filigree of heredity and affection passed down through a gesture as simple as holding a hand. Filigrane thus explores the delicacy of these family ties, visible at times, almost erased at others, yet always present as a subtle overlay beneath the surface of what is visible.
