“Emergence” (36 x 24 inches) Part of the series “Echoes of Violence”. The black line represents a barrier. This barrier could be violence. The grey triangle represents a path or tunnel that is breaking through the barrier to reach the orange circle. The orange circle represents hope. It can be compared to a sun or the light at the end of the tunnel. Some people compare it to a portal, meaning that everyone’s reality is different and everyone has the power to alter their reality. The large orange piece orange and white pieces at the bottom represents parts of ourselves we leave behind and part of ourselves we take with us. The top orange pieces represent the parts of ourselves we are yet to discover once we “breakthrough” our barriers. Notice inside of the white circular shapes there is also one random white piece that is straight lines. That little invisible piece represents parts of ourselves that we hide. Even if we try to hide or ignore it, it’s still there.
