Joy de Vivre Collage

This mixed media collage features an intricate arrangement of torn paper fragments in varied textures and colors, including pinks, greens, purples, and metallic golds. The composition is dense and layered, with abstract brushstrokes and calligraphic marks interspersed throughout. Small printed images of traditional Japanese dolls add a cultural motif, contrasting with the abstract elements. The overall mood is vibrant and dynamic, inviting viewers to explore the interplay between organic forms and structured patterns within the artwork. This dynamic and vibrant mixed media collage was created with self-created collage papers as well as some decorative Japanese papers purchased from a fine art paper store. I used ads and images from an old art magazine and decorated them with brightly coloured metallic foils such as pink, gold, silver, red and purple. In addition, I designed collage papers using brown, red and green inks as well as some green and red pastels. The collage has 2-3 layers of papers adhered to the canvas with gloss medium. Below the collage, there was an original painting with acrylics. The sides of the painting are black. I hope this bright, dynamic and energetic collage brings a joy and energy to your home.
