Nic Rage is a contemporary artist whose work explores the fragmentation of the image and the complexity of human identity. THE APPROACH

Where fragments become language, and chaos takes shape!

Nic Rage is a contemporary artist whose work explores the fragmentation of the image and the complexity of human identity. Through a practice that straddles geometric abstraction and popular imagery, he deconstructs figures to reveal their inner tensions, emotions, and the multiple layers of meaning that shape the perception of reality. His works take the form of emotional maps where lines, shapes, and colors intertwine in a balance between chaos and structure. Faces, bodies, and figures drawn from popular culture become universal archetypes that he reinterprets as constantly shifting inner landscapes. Inspired by a contemporary approach to Cubism, Nic Rage does not seek to represent the world as it is, but to convey its sensations, desires, and contradictions. Each composition functions as a living network, where fragments only make sense in relation to one another, evoking both human connections and the invisible structures of memory and emotion. His work oscillates between control and spontaneity, geometric rigor and expressive intensity. This tension creates complex, almost hypnotic images that invite the viewer’s gaze to wander, to lose itself, and to continually reconstruct new interpretations. Through this aesthetic of fragmentation and recomposition, Nic Rage reflects on how individuals construct themselves: not as fixed entities, but as shifting constellations of memories, experiences, and sensations. 2024 – Club St-Denis, Montreal May–July: Group exhibition — opening February–May: Solo exhibition – “From the Intimate to Superheroes” 2016–2023 – Galerie Le Luxart, Montreal Regular participation in group exhibitions and contemporary art events. 2015–2023 – Galerie d’art Internationale de Québec 2017 – Solo exhibition – “The Indomitable Gaze” 2014 – Laprairie Competition Exhibition 2012 – Group exhibition — Galerie Roccia, Montreal Events and Publications 2018 – Galerie N69 Magazine Publication on the artistic process (Spring/Summer). 2015–2023 – La Nuit des Galeries, Petit Champlain District, Quebec City Annual group exhibitions.
