Marven Clerveau is a self-taught painter based in Montreal. For over eleven years, he has been developing a committed practice that explores the representation of atypical bodies and the valorization of difference through acrylic paint and collage, in order to give voice to often marginalized narratives. Inspired by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Frida Kahlo, he inscribes his work in the continuity of crip art, transforming his own experiences into a creative force that celebrates the diversity, vulnerability and dignity of bodies.
