Anya Schuler is a visual artist based in Ottawa, Ontario, practicing mixed-media abstract painting. After attending Ryerson University’s 4-year Photo Arts program from 1995 to 1999, Anya made a 'safe' decision and embarked on what became a 23-year career in IT. In 2023, she retired from office life to pursue her creativity in art, raise her family, and run a small sheep farm. Oxford Apartment Garden Series
17 abstract garden scapes created in memory of each of Jeffrey Dahmer's victims. When hung together, the paintings will create a memorial garden in paint and chalk. In 2024, I flew to Wisconsin to plant a guerilla garden at the site of the Oxford Apartments in Milwaukee where Dahmer committed most of these abominations. In over 30 years, no one has done anything at this site to commemorate these young men. An empty, fenced in lot is all that remains of the building. Flowers will now bloom there.
