Robert M. Deschenes has been painting North American wildlife for over thirty years, six of which he has spent working full-time. Self-taught, he first studied architecture at the Collège de Rimouski before devoting himself entirely to wildlife painting. It was his brother Michel who, when he was a child, taught him to identify birds near the Madawaska River. This passion took a decisive turn in the 1990s when he discovered the work of painter Jean-Luc Grondin.
