For several years, starting in the autumn of 2012, after drawing various Portraits in pencil on paper, I needed to scan all these drawings in high resolution in order to preserve them in my personal archive. Having always lived in LaSalle, I have continuously relied on the services of Copie LaSalle since 2012 to scan all these Artworks, because they were the only ones who had a large-format scanner capable of scanning my large-scale Portraits. For a long time, we had the idea, together with Copie LaSalle, of placing a promotional sample for my portrait commissions in their boutique, where they carry out their activity, so that all their clients could see an original hand-drawn Portrait. I chose the person whose face would be represented in this Portrait to be the person who is present in the boutique every day and whom all visitors see when they enter — allowing them to compare the real person with the Portrait displayed prominently beside the work table. I received the photograph from which this portrait was created, and at the beginning of the summer of 2026, I developed the entire appearance of this portrait through several stages of work. I paid special attention to the shirt worn by the model, as it is made of a unique fine linen fabric that reflects the surrounding environment and required careful observation and rendering of all its subtle reflections within the Portrait. I also dedicated special attention to capturing the character of the person represented, the hands, the reflections in the glasses, as well as the watch on the wrist and the structure of all materials — (the skin, hair, reflections on the glasses, and the whiteness of the shirt) through many subtle layers of color, using a patient and meticulous approach. In this colored pencil Portrait, I aimed to capture the personal expression, character, and unique presence of the model. Through careful attention to facial details, the gaze, textures, and subtle variations of color, I sought to create a living representation that goes beyond a simple photographic reproduction. I gradually built the volumes and depth of the image through fine overlapping layers of colored pencil shading, while preserving the naturalness and sensitivity specific to a handmade Drawing. I wanted the expression, posture, and overall atmosphere of the Portrait to convey a part of the personality of the person represented and to create an emotional connection with the viewer. For me, the authenticity of this Artwork lies in the combination of careful observation, colored pencil technique, and my personal artistic interpretation, resulting in an Original Portrait — a Work of Authorship by Vodniciar Alina (Vodniciar Art Works). After completing the Drawing on paper, I mounted it on a white plastic board and presented it to the Copie LaSalle office so that it could be framed and displayed on the wall in a prominent position right at the entrance. The Artwork Portrait was placed in a simple frame under glass, and since then, many clients who see it every day in person have expressed their appreciation through beautiful comments and positive reactions. This is the second type of Portrait within this category, called: “Individual Portrait with Hands”, which I create with a special artistic approach. Individual Portrait with hands is the second type of Portrait that I draw or paint to order from a photograph in a large format, and it includes the representation of the person’s figure with the hands fully depicted.
