Vodniciar Alina Artwork Landscape «The Flower Yard» — 31x46,5cm watercolor on paper 2011

I painted this landscape of a yard full of flowers in 2011, using my watercolour technique, in which I tried to preserve the freshness of the colours and the spontaneous and transparent appearance characteristic of this wet-on-wet working technique. The work was carried out initially on wet paper, but the brick structure was, of course, executed on dry paper. As soon as I saw it, I decided to paint it, and I was inspired to create a vivid and luminous colour palette, based mainly on different shades of green, complemented by warm accents of red, pink, yellow and violet, which give the garden life and variety. I like to paint this brick structure. It is an element that is as simple as it is classic and that adds beauty to any construction. I paid attention to the details of the flowers, the foliage and the brickwork, without, however, losing the overall impression of naturalness. The main focal points of the composition in this work are the brick arch and the gate, and by painting the flowers and vegetation in this manner, everything around them creates the impression of a peaceful, rich and charming courtyard. You can imagine that when you are greeted by so much beauty in the form of flowers right from the gate, perhaps that light shining beyond it brings with it even more comfort and solace. The purpose of this Artwork is that, when you look at it, it may rekindle a hope for goodness, peace and tranquillity. I believe that everyone would admire such a gate adorned with flowers and with a light beyond it.
