Vodniciar Alina Artwork «Landscape from Moldova» — 22,5x30cm watercolor on paper 2008

I was born in the south of Moldova, and this small landscape is one of the imprints of memory that connects me to my native places. In particular, these greenish and blue-grey shades are predominant in the villages of southern Moldova. Although this is generally a cool color palette, for me it conveys a feeling of warmth, life, and hospitality that comes precisely from these landscapes. I painted this typical Moldovan landscape in 2008 in a small format, in which I wanted to preserve the intimate atmosphere of a traditional homestead and the simple charm of the village. Through the transparency of watercolor, I sought to express the light, the vegetation, and the harmony between the house, the gate, and the surrounding nature. For me, this Artwork is an evocation of my native place and of the authentic beauty of Moldova. The Artwork is not framed, it consists only of the painted watercolor sheet.
