Vodniciar Alina Artwork «Flowers» — 17,5x25cm watercolor on paper 2022

I painted these flowers in 2022 in a small watercolor format. In this small artwork, my aim was to capture through color the delicate beauty typical of fruit tree blossoms, which are a symbol of spring. When trees bloom, these flowers become messengers of renewal and freshness. I captured the delicacy of these flowers through fluid and transparent brushstrokes of color. Most of these flowers do not have a strong fragrance, but when you look at them, you can almost feel the scent of spring and a sense of serenity. The composition is arranged diagonally, with two flowers in bloom and two buds ready to blossom. The pale pink tones of the flowers are reflected in the background. I chose to use watercolor in order to preserve the transparency and fragility of the flowers, allowing the colors to blend naturally on the paper. The contrast between the warm pink shades and the cool, slightly grey-green tones of the background creates a calm and peaceful atmosphere. I aimed to maintain a feeling of freshness through free washes of color and delicate brushstrokes, without overwhelming the image with unnecessary details. Through this work, I tried to convey a moment in nature, captured precisely at the time when spring begins to come alive. The Artwork is created on a small format and is not framed, it is simply the painted sheet of watercolor paper.
