Naissance circulaire (2024)

A circle becomes a beginning; wood becomes breath. Carved from a single piece of Himalayan cedar, this sculpture forms an organic ring that suggests a passageway. At its centre, a lively shape emerges and dances, sheltered by the wooden arch. The wood’s natural contrasts define the composition: the inside of the ring reveals the deep, dark tones of the heartwood, while the outside displays pale, golden hues. This sculpture rests on a black walnut base, grounding its airy movement in a sense of stability.
