Maus Trap

Little attention is given to some of our great legends and how they supported dubious and evil causes. Maus Trap is jab at Walt Disney's alleged fascination with the "Friends of Germany" *(an early pro nazi group) and later culture war of Disney on the reformed European Continent. This is the first work in Jerre Teague's "The Fog of War" series. "Maus Trap" is a vivid, surreal painting featuring a large, stylized mouse trap at its center, painted in bold red and black with a white trigger. The trap's interior resembles Swiss cheese, with detailed holes adding texture. Surrounding the trap, green bombs float against a bright yellow background, which is patterned with circular indentations reminiscent of cheese holes. The composition combines whimsical and dark elements, reflecting a chaotic and absurd world. The use of strong colors and clear shapes creates a striking visual tension, embodying the artist's maximalist and absurdist style.
