The work "Harmony of Opposites" explores the coexistence of good and evil, seen as inherent forms of the sacred that humanity consults to discover its own face. It is therefore a work about the absence of a face, in other words, about the effacement of subjectivity in the contemplation of a possible future of its action upon the world. In elusive lines marked by the force of a frenetic gesture, a relationship of scale is established between the transcendent and the immanent. The direction of the lines seems to indicate a quest for ascension toward the divine as three planes emerge. In the foreground, red lines in an emulsion of gold pigments and oil paint trace a language in which chimeric, almost devilish forms seem to dance like the flickering flames of a bonfire. In the middle ground, occupying three-quarters of the space as if emerging from the depths of the paper, immense gilded plaques, like a sacred wall, structure the entire visual composition. Meanwhile, in the background, the off-white of the sheet contrasts with the traces of India ink, the essential lines of this painting, and the faded aesthetic of the eroded paper. This work is like a path of faith in the inescapable tension between good and evil that assails us all.
