No one knows how ink remembers the origin of forms

Gaëlle Étémé is an emerging, multidisciplinary, and self-taught artist based in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Her work, encompassing painting, calligraphy, music, opera, and experimental film, unfolds as a vast aesthetic network of thought experiments exploring the impotence of saying "I." Étémé is interested in residual forms of consciousness, the thought processes of objects, and especially how the condition of objectification can become an immense philosophical opportunity for all the Nameless and the forgotten of history. Her work focuses on the paradox of discovering the Marvelous through annihilation, aiming to develop, through art, a metaphysical paradigm of absence and to open avenues for ethical reflection on the conditions for collective action within the inherent context of war and erasure.
